TAKEAWAYS

Google helped me grow as a designer, problem-solver, innovator, and the list continues…

  1. Every design should have a strong rationale

If I had to pick one word that my managers said to me the most, it would be "rationale". By anchoring my designs on UXR and product goals, I learned to build a stronger rationale for every design decision.

  1. Design with parity and scalability

Most features and designs are interconnected within Google's Advertising Platform, so I worked closely with cross-functional teams and created designs that are consistent and scalable across the product area.

  1. Stay scrappy and messy!

My favorite part of the design process is (unsurprisingly) iterating on the polished, beautiful designs at the end. But my team taught me to embrace the scrappy and messy side of design, where creativity flows without limits.

HIGHLIGHTS

I traveled 2,500 miles to participate in our team summit, met 60+ Googlers and made countless lifelong memories during my internship at Google!
